What to be Aware of if Your Insurance Changed

Here at Ridgeview Home Medical, we understand that a new year can mean changes to your insurance. If you have an active equipment rental with us and there has been a change to your primary insurance of Medicare as of January 1, 2019, please keep reading to learn more about what these insurance changes mean for you. We’ll need to start a new 13-month rental cycle in order to bill Medicare for your active equipment rental. Keep in mind that if your insurance has a deductible or coinsurance, you’ll be responsible for paying those amounts.

Our knowledgeable and helpful staff is here to guide you through these insurance changes. Please give us a call to inform us of the date of your appointment. We’ll also need the name and location of your provider’s office so we can fax the required paperwork to them at the time of your visit. Additionally, if you’ve been seen any time in the past 90 days regarding your CPAP/BiPAP use, please let us know when that visit took place. We’ll then verify that the notes on file are sufficient to support Medicare coverage of your equipment and supplies.
